It's been brought to my attention by my supporters that there is misinformation about me reaching out to bring
the vaccine to our community and lining up potential vaccine sites for Monona. So I am clearing up this area of concern.
In my conversation with someone at the County who is directly involved with vaccine distribution, I asked what I, as a community leader in Monona, could be doing to ensure that we are represented when we reach a point of mass distribution of the vaccine. They said lining up potential sites is step one.
Because I have strong relationships with our local business community, I called three organizations that have event spaces that are sitting empty. They were all eager to offer up their spaces because they know getting the vaccine widely distributed is the key to opening back up and putting this pandemic behind us.
Frankly, all of our city leaders should have been doing this and lobbying on behalf of our community. I'm a proactive leader and it's not my style to sit back and wait and watch what happens. When we get to the point of broad supply, we must be ready to jump into action.
I provided our Fire Chief with the contacts and site information I had and he is working to pull it all together. You can read more by clicking here.
