I just saw this post that recaps a visit to a town board meeting in the country. It’s the perfect summation of what I’m hoping to do in Monona—I call it government 2.0 Communication is at the core of my government 2.0 plan. It's a willingness to talk civilly to each other even when we disagree. It recognizes that we're neighbors who all want what's best for our city. We can work together to solve our problems but we must have empathy and respect for others even when our opinions do not align. We must also find leaders to serve who represent the voices of the underrepresented in our community like low income, elderly, differently-abled, and diverse cultural backgrounds. I am one of these leaders who is stepping up and I hope you'll support me with your vote on April 7.
